Delivery & Returns



We aim to deliver goods to you within the time indicated by us in our acceptance but we cannot give an exact delivery date. We aim to inform you within 3 days of placing your order (often much sooner and typically within 24hrs) if it is likely that we will experience any delay with your order.

Please ensure that your delivery address is correct on the order form as a re-delivery fee will be payable for items that are not correctly addressed.

Orders sent to a work address or different from the billing address are done so at the customers own risk as deliveries can be accepted by work colleagues or associates and are relied upon to pass the parcel to the addressee.

We will arrange for delivery of the goods by Royal Mail or other services via a method suitable to the value of the goods. Postage and packing will be payable as set out below:

  • FREE UK Royal Mail Special Delivery or Royal Mail Signed For Delivery at our discretion for all items
  • Royal Mail International Special Delivery insured for all items - £20.00

Delivery Tracking

At David Gilbert Jewellery we understand how important your purchase is, David Gilbert Jewellery and its approved Brands and Designers are a special choice of jewellery bought to mark an incredibly important occasion. We also understand that you would like the peace of mind that comes with being able to track your order; this is why we use the Royal Mail Track and Trace service, Special Delivery and Signed For Service as applicable.

Track & Trace is a Royal Mail service that lets you check the status of a trackable item that David Gilbert Jewellery has sent through the post.

Simply visit the Royal Mail website, enter the reference number from your dispatched email and click on ‘Track item’. The status of your item will then be shown.

Any delay in delivery

If we have not delivered the goods by the date given in our T&C’s or any other date that we have agreed with you then you may not cancel the order unless and until you have given us 14 days’ written notice requiring the delivery to be made and we have not fulfilled the delivery within that period.

We will not be held liable for late delivery of goods caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Before signing for your package, please ensure that it is not ruptured or damaged. We cannot be held responsible for theft or loss once you have signed for your package.


We will supply goods that will remain free from defects in materials or caused by workmanship for a period of 12 months (or longer if required by law) from the date of delivery.

You should inspect the goods when you receive them for defects or damage. If you find a defect or damage you must contact us as soon as possible at or call 01970 627754 and we will arrange for their return, either to us or the manufacturer (if not us and at our option), at no cost to you. If the goods are found to be damaged prior to delivery to you, or defective, we will refund the price paid by you. If you would prefer repair or replacement of the goods please contact us and we will accommodate you where this is reasonably practicable. Please do not ship your goods to us without prior authorisation. This warranty does not cover expenses incurred due to lack of proper care for the products which we supply. The product warranty becomes void if the goods are altered or changed in anyway from the original supplied item unless the alteration has been carried out by ourselves.

These terms and conditions do not exclude our liability (if any) to you for:

  • personal injury or death resulting from our negligence;
  • fraud;
  • any matter which it would be illegal for us to exclude or to attempt to exclude our liability;

We are only liable to you for losses which you suffer as a result of a breach of these terms and conditions by us. We are not responsible to you for any losses which you may incur which were not a foreseeable consequence of us breaching these terms and conditions, for example if you and we could not have contemplated those losses before or when we enter into a contract. Our liability to you shall not in any circumstances include any business losses that you may incur, including but not limited to lost data, lost profits or business interruption.

We will resize or replace any ring if it has accidentally been mis-sized. It is the customers’ responsibility to order the correct finger size. We can alter a ring’s size, but a charge may be made at the following rates:

  • Plain rings: £15.00
  • Others: £25.00

A delivery charge of £15.00 will apply if the order is to be shipped outside of the UK and £10.00 within the UK.

You must contact us within 28 days of initial delivery if you wish any ring to be resized. Please contact us before returning a ring to us for resizing. Resized items are not refundable.

Your right to cancel

If you are a consumer (i.e. You are not purchasing either wholly or in part for your business or you are not a business) you have the right, in addition to your other rights, to cancel the contract (other than for personalised or commissioned/bespoke products) and receive a refund from us. You must inform us in writing if you wish to cancel within 28 days, starting on the day after the goods are delivered to you.

If you choose to cancel then you must return the goods to us at your cost and risk (unless the return is due to an oversight on our part) and we advise you to ensure the goods are adequately insured during the return journey. You must ensure that you take reasonable care of the goods. If you fail to assume the costs of returning the items we will make an additional charge to you for the costs we incur.

If you have not returned the goods within 28 days of cancellation or when requested by us to do so, whichever occurs first, we can collect the goods from you at your cost. Returns & Exchanges

At David Gilbert Jewellery we are sure that you will be extremely satisfied with your purchase,

David Gilbert Jewellery believes in complete customer satisfaction. We take great pride in the quality and workmanship of our products and we are confident that your choice will meet or exceed your expectations. If for any reason you wish to return your item(s), David Gilbert Jewellery will accept the item(s) providing it/they are returned unused, it is in its original packaging and it is returned within 14 days of receipt. A full refund will then be issued.

If an item is found to be faulty (subject to a manufacturers inspection) David Gilbert Jewellery will replace or refund the item within 28 days of purchase. If a item develops a fault within 12 months of purchase David Gilbert Jewellery will service or replace the item free of charge.

To return or exchange an item:

  • Contact customer services to request a returns form with your details, order number and reason for return or exchange.
  • Secure your items and all of the original packing materials, with the completed Returns Form, in a plainly wrapped padded envelope taped securely.

Please be careful: You should NOT write Item, diamond, jewellery, diamonds or other luxury-related words anywhere on the package, as this invites possible theft of the package.

  • Ship the item by registered UK Royal Mail (Special Delivery), fully insured for the value of the item plus shipping charges. David Gilbert Jewellery is not responsible for items lost or damaged while return shipping.
  • Please request a return receipt to ensure your shipment is tracked.

Conditions of Return

  • The item must be returned within twenty eight (28) days following the shipment date of the order. Packages without a Returns Form cannot be accepted and may incur and admin fee.
  • We will notify you once we've received and processed your returned item. (Please note that any unauthorized, improperly packaged, or non-insured returns will be returned to sender).

David Gilbert Jewellery is not responsible for any diamonds, jewellery items that it does not actually receive or that is not returned in accordance with these terms.
